“Udu Council Boss Oyibode Praised by Auditor General for Outstanding Infrastructure Development”
The Auditor General of Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Ukpaka Ikenna, and his team were on 18/02/25 warmly received by the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, High Chief (Hon) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA, during an inspection of ongoing development projects in the council at Otor-Udu.
The inspection covered several key infrastructure projects that are nearing completion, including the Udu Council Chapel building, the Udu Council Chairman’s office, the Chairman’s Residential Quarters, and the newly constructed Udu Headquarters Police Station with attached residential quarters.
In his remarks, the Auditor General commended the Udu Council Chairman for the effective and judicious use of public funds, noting, “With what I am seeing, your second tenure is guaranteed.” He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being done at the various project sites and highlighted the significant progress made under the leadership of the council.
Mr. Ukpaka also lauded the transparency demonstrated by the Udu Council Chairman, particularly in making Council Land available for public viewing. “Indeed, this is a welcome development, especially when I reflect on my previous visit to the council and now see the progress achieved,” he added.
In response, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode thanked the Auditor General and his team for the visit. He emphasized that his administration remains committed to the continued development of Udu, focusing on infrastructural growth, enhanced security, and ensuring accountability to the people. “My administration is built on transparency and accountability, and we are dedicated to advancing the interests of our people,” the chairman stated.
Also present to receive the inspection team were Mr. Joseph Akpodioete, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) of Udu Local Government Council, Evangelist Andrew Dokie, the Supervisor for Works, and Comrade Omoko Vincent, the Supervisor for Finance, among other dignitaries.
The visit marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to develop Udu into a more vibrant and well-equipped local government area, reflecting the commitment of the current administration to the welfare and progress of its people.
